Learn Mandolin Through the Pattern Method

D7 Scale

Use the same fingering shown of the previous lesson (G7 scale)

Start with the D note on the G string and play the scale through the D string then the A string. Notice the 7th note of the scale is moved down one fret from C# to C natural.

Theory

The D Dominant 7th scale has 1
sharp and 0 flats and in this lesson
moves from the D note of the G
string to the D note of the A string.

This is one octave.

Notice that the D7 scale resembles
the G Major scale.

The dominant scale will resemble
the 4th note of the current dominant
scale your playing.
