Learn Mandolin Through the Pattern Method

This is a on-going series on the dominant 7th scales and a preview of the method used in Learn Mandolin Through the Pattern Method Books 1 & 2


E7 scale


Start with the E note on the G string and play the scale through the D
string then the A string. Notice the 7th note of the scale is moved down
one fret from D# to D natural.


Theory


The E Dominant 7th scale has 3
sharps and 0 flats.


Notice that the E7 scale resembles
the A Major scale.

The dominant scale will resemble
the 4th note of the current dominant
scale your playing.
